This section is divided into two parts: firstly, a literature review takes up the subject of International
Market Selection for SMEs followed by an in-depth market analysis of the car-sharing market in
Switzerland. The ultimate objective of this examination was to select the most attractive target market
for internationalizing the German car-sharing corporation WeShare. Although the Swiss country is
characterized by appealing demographic and infrastructural indicators, the market entry for free-floating
car-sharing schemes is impeded by municipal authorities. Local endeavors, to seek rather domestic
mobility partnerships than incentivizing established foreign companies to launch theirservices, limit the
current market potential.
