Resumo(s)
The maritime industry is undergoing a fundamental change towards sustainability to
meet public policies regarding climate change. As an important shipping region, the Baltic Sea
is at the forefront of that policy implementation. Ports, as key industry players, are facilitating
the industry shift through the adoption of sustainability practices in conjunction with their
stakeholders. Hence, this paper analyzes the role key stakeholders of ports are playing for port
sustainability in the Baltic Sea. Interview analysis with port authorities yielded two
predominant themes for stakeholder engagement in sustainability practices confirming existing
literature findings on stakeholder saliency in multi-stakeholder networks.
