This work project, titled “Why are textile SMEs incorporating sustainability practices in their
strategy and how can it be done effectively? The case of Riopele Têxteis, SA”, purposes an
explanation for textile SMEs incorporating sustainability in their business strategy and how can
they do it, despite economic barriers, from the specific case of Riopele Têxteis, SA. This company
was chosen because it hassustainability embedded in its vision. This work project will then analyze
the motivations, the opportunities that integrating sustainability can bring to the textile industry,
and hopefully, it will be able to extend its finding to other industries.
