Resumo(s)
The sustainability of Social Security has been widely
discussed in academia. In this paper, as a group, we take the
conclusions from that discussion and add another question:
is it intergenerationally fair? Our counterfactual is the current
2007 pensions reform in Portugal, and analyze the proposals
made by Iniciativa Liberal and Bloco de Esquerda. In my
part, we focus on the first one. We conclude that both
proposals, despite being incredibly different, are probably
intergenerationally fair, and with recommendations, both for
each policy and the tool we used to analyze them, as this is a
pioneer project.
