A uni-
With the growing competitiveness among companies, the demand for continuous improvement approaches and methodologies for their internal processes is increasing. The Lean philosophy, through the application of its tools, has as its main objective the creation of value with the mini- mum possible resources, helping to identify problems and eliminate waste. The company DHL Supply Chain, as well as other companies in the service sector, tend to apply Lean to improve their processes. In this context, the study was carried out at DHL Supply Chain, which had as its initial objective the improvement of the process of stock management of corpo- rate uniforms. During the study it was also possible to improve the storage and organisation of the facilities and to standardise the processes of receiving and preparing orders. During the study, various analytical tools from Lean, quality management and decision support were used. The implementation of the proposals has enabled DHL SC to improve existing processes. The standardisation of the article codes has enabled a reduction of around 33% in the number of articles and, in this way, a reduction in the locations occupied in the warehouse. It has been possible to increase the reliability of information in relation to stock items, also creating a proce- dure to be able to maintain this control in the long term. By modifying the layout of the installations and installing a picking trolley, we managed to increase the productivity of the process. In addition to these improvements, procedures were drawn up and implemented to increase process stand- ardisation, reducing errors and waste. 5S audits were also implemented with the aim of improving and keeping the facilities tidy and organised, thereby increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the service.
