A Tradução na Área de Marketing: uma Experiência de Estágio na Upwords

Abstract

O presente relatório tem como objetivo relatar e explorar os conhecimentos adquiridos durante o estágio curricular realizado na Upwords Lda. Com a escolha do estágio curricular como componente não letiva, foi possível aplicar e testar os conhecimentos adquiridos ao longo do Mestrado em Tradução. O relatório pretende analisar em particular o mundo da tradução de marketing, para identificar e compreender as competências linguísticas, tecnológicas e criativas necessárias para trabalhar em tal área. Procura-se, por fim, refletir sobre a experiência profissional vivida e chegar a um conjunto de conclusões sobre o mercado de trabalho na área da tradução técnica em geral e na da tradução de marketing em particular.

The goal of this report is to tell and explore the knowledge acquired throughout the curricular internship that took place at Upwords Lda. By choosing the curricular internship as the final component of the degree it was possible to apply and test the knowledge I acquired during this Translation Master’s. The objective is to analyze the world of marketing translation in particular, to identify and understand the linguistic, technologic, and creative skills required to work in this field. Ultimately, this report seeks to reflect about the professional experience I went through and reach a set of conclusions about the technical translation market in general, and the marketing translation one in particular.
