O objetivo deste trabalho prende-se com a identificação de fatores significativos e
explicativos para o comportamento do mercado regulado português dos jogos e apostas
online. Através duma amostra de informação relativa a um intervalo de tempo desta
atividade, disponibilizada pelo SRIJ, tal foi possível, sendo o foco deste trabalho a base de
incidência do imposto a que fica sujeita esta atividade, variável essa que, por si só, reúne
algumas das características do referido mercado.
Em conjunto com algumas variáveis explicativas ajustam-se dois modelos, o modelo
de regressão linear múltipla e o modelo de regressão Gama, por forma a encontrar quais
daquelas variáveis explicam o pretendido. Apenas foi possível adquirir qualidade na
inferência dos modelos para as apostas desportivas à cota, obtendo-se conclusões sobre
as mesmas.
Ainda se realiza uma análise da importância relativa das variáveis propostas pelo
modelo de regressão linear múltipla, pela implementação de algumas métricas para o
efeito, bem como uma análise de sensibilidade para as variáveis propostas por ambos os
modelos.
Por último, apresentam-se algumas conclusões e recomendações da responsabilidade
exclusiva do autor e ainda algumas considerações sobre possíveis indicadores alarmísticos
de desvios a implementar com base nos resultados obtidos pelo estudo realizado e à luz
do mercado em estudo.
The main purpose of this work consists of the identification of significative and ex- planatory factors for the portuguese regulated online gambling market behaviour. This analysis was possible, through a sample of information, regarding a period of time of this activity, provided by SRIJ (portuguese regulator), being the tax basis for this activity the focal point of this work, which contains on itself some of the refered market features. Together with some explanatory variables two models are fitted, the multiple linear regression model and the Gamma regression model, in order to find which of those variables explain the first intended. The inference analysis with proper quality was only possible to achieve for the fixed-odds sports bets, with results and conclusions only for those. In addition, a relative importance analysis of the proposed variables from the multiple linear regression model is carried out by the use of some metrics for this purpose and also a sensivity analysis for the proposed variables from both models. Finally, some conclusions and recommendations from the entire responsability of the author and some considerations about possible deviation alarming indicators are presented, based on the results from the conducted analysis and considering the market in study.
