Resumo(s)
The Common Agricultural Policy is one of the EU’s largest and most important policies. LEADER, apart of the CAP located in Pillar II, is a bottom-up rural development program based on local stakeholder engagement. The effects of LEADER have been analyzed using a counterfactual impact evaluation employing the CBPS method and propensity score matching. Results are diverse, but in many cases, a significant impact of LEADER can be found. The outcome variables studied range from economic in nature to agritourism, voting behavior and demographics. Their relevance, especially in rural areas, is ever increasing and relevant for the EU’s future.
