A presente dissertação tem como objetivo integrar a performatividade em propostas de cariz ativista capazes de problematizar os modelos de representação sexista impostos ao corpo feminino. Inscrito numa dinâmica de desejo falocêntrico, o corpo da mulher tem sido o meio pelo qual o sistema patriarcal controla diversos dos seus ideais, mantendo a mulher associada à corporalidade, por oposição ao homem associado ao domínio do intelecto. Através da utilização do corpo na prática performativa, a mulher desafia as convencionais representações de género, revelando um conjunto de dissidências sociais e culturais inscritas na corporalidade feminina. Nesta perspetiva, num primeiro momento, recorremos ao legado deixado pela geração de feministas norte-americanas da década de 1970, para refletir sobre as propostas de artistas que ao desafiarem as convencionais representações de género reconfiguraram a própria imagem da mulher. Na segunda parte da dissertação, abordando especificamente o contexto nacional, concentramo-nos no trabalho de Vera Mantero, Rita GT e do coletivo GATA para analisar, respetivamente, as relações da performance com o corpo enquanto superfície de inscrição política e social; a performance enquanto meio de ocupação do espaço museológico e do espaço urbano, problematizando os valores presentes na edificação destes mesmos espaços; e por fim, a integração da performance ativista em propostas de carácter coletivista e participativo.
This dissertation aims to integrate the performativity in activist practices, capable of problematizing the models of sexist representation imposed on the female body. Inscribed in a dynamic of phallocentric desire, the woman's body has been the means by which the patriarchal system controls several of his ideals, keeping the woman associated with corporality, in opposition to the man represented by the domain of the intellect. By using the body in performative practices, women challenge conventional gender representations by revealing a set of social and cultural dissents inscribed in female corporality. Therefore, in a first moment, we used the analysis of the legacy left by the generation of american feminists of the 1970s, to reflect on the proposals of artists that challenge the conventional gender representations in order to reconfigure the woman's image. In the second part of this dissertation, specifically addressing the national context, we focus on the work of Vera Mantero, Rita GT and the collective GATA to analyse, respectively, the relations of performance with the body as a surface of political and social inscription; performance as a means of occupation of the museological space and urban space, problematizing the values present in the construction of these spaces; and finally, the integration of activist performance into collectivist and participatory practices.
