This report aims to understand the operationalization of the integration process of applicants for international protection in Portugal, considering the internship held at the Portuguese Refugee Council (CPR) and the analysis of the legal framework regarding the right to asylum and refugees, bearing in mind three frameworks: the international, the European and the Portuguese. Based on this theoretical analysis and the observations of my empirical experience as an intern at CPR, key areas for the integration of applicants for international protection in the Portuguese society are addressed, in addition to the position of Portugal regarding the issue of refugees and asylum seekers, as a Member State of the European Union and the United Nations. This report also includes a detailed depiction of the tasks carried out throughout the internship, as well as a description of the institution.
