INTRODUCTION: The benevolent coverage of the internacional media was determinant for the success of scientific disinformation in the past, as it was also responsible for the spread of several myths that still haunt to this day. The arrival of the coronavirus pinned denialism and information disrodem as a national premiere. The consequent emergence of groups that proclaimed themselves as 'for the Truth' challenged the journalistic practices and made it possible to avaliate the professional commitment to the establishment of the facts. Faced with the evident threat, we ask: How did the Portuguese media dealt with the negationist phenomenon of 'Doctors for the Truth'? METHODOLOGY: We collected all the articles that featured the negationist movement from August 2020 to February 2021. We counted a total of 60 articles published in 16 different Portuguese media. Next, we proceed to analyse the form and the content of most of the selected pieces, in order to understand the type of coverage that was made. Finally, we completed the investigation by conducting some interviews with journalists which coverage was distinctive. CONCLUSION: The majority of the articles chose to cover ‘Doctors for the Truth’ with impartiality and most of the time by presenting the contradictory when listening to credible and accurate sources of authority. The totality of the facts was generally respected and the truth was the biggest priority.
