Resumo(s)
The model of start-up accelerators has spread globally at an astonishing rate ever since it was created in the U.S.in 2005by Y Combinator and soon proved to be very successful. Even though data suggests that European accelerators are catching up, the most successful accelerator alumni of the past decade seem to come forth out of U.S. based programs. This research analyzes the performance of start-up accelerator alumni in Europe and the U.S.to find out whether there is evidence for differences in effectiveness of European versus U.S. accelerators, both generally as well as between the respective top programs.
