Relativamente ao ensino da língua segunda e estrangeira, hoje em dia há várias teorias e abordagens destinadas à aquisição da língua segunda pelos alunos, por exemplo, a abordagem direta, comunicativa, natural etc. E, de acordo com a situação do curso e da aula, os professores dos institutos de ensino adotam abordagens diversas, para terem maior eficiência no ensino de uma língua segunda ou estrangeira. Desta forma, é possível analisar os métodos e abordagens aplicados no ensino da língua portuguesa no território de Região Administrativa Especial de Macau pela sua prática didática na aula. No presente trabalho pretende-se estudar os métodos e abordagens realizados no ensino da língua portuguesa no ensino superior em Macau, com base na análise da prática didática no Instituto Politécnico de Macau, nomeadamente a seleção das abordagens adequadas, a organização curricular e a prática dos métodos na aula. Sendo uma cidade onde a cultura portuguesa se encontra com a chinesa, os institutos educativos da língua portuguesa em Macau desempenham um papel significativo no ensino da língua portuguesa em China, sendo que o presente estudo possa contribuir para oferecer algumas experiências e exemplos para o ensino da língua portuguesa na China. A presente dissertação encontra-se dividida em três capítulos: O primeiro capítulo visa apresentar as abordagens e métodos que se aplicam pelos professores no ensino da língua segunda e estrangeira ao longo do tempo, incluindo definição básica, conceito e uma breve história sobre o seu desenvolvimento. O segundo capítulo procede à exposição do contexto histórico e político do ensino da língua portuguesa em Macau. Tem como objetivo dar uma visão integral, da atual situação do ensino da língua portuguesa no IPM. No terceiro capítulo efetua-se a análise das abordagens e métodos adotados pelos professores na aula de IPM, com base no estudo sobre a organização curricular, prática didática e a seleção das abordagens e métodos.
Regarding second and foreign language teaching, nowadays there are various theories and approaches aimed at students' second language acquisition, for example, the direct approach, communicative approach, natural approach, etc. And according to the situation of the courses and classes, teachers from teaching institutes adopt various approaches to have more efficiency in teaching a second or foreign language. Thus, it is possible to analyze the methods and approaches applied in teaching Portuguese in the territory of Macao Special Administrative Region by their teaching practice in the classroom. This paper aims to study the methods and approaches used in the teaching of Portuguese in university education in Macau, based on the analysis of the didactic practice at the Macao Polytechnic Institute, namely the selection of appropriate approaches, the curricular organization and the practice of methods in the classroom. As a city where Portuguese culture meets Chinese culture, the Portuguese language educational institutes in Macau play a significant role in the teaching of Portuguese language in China, giving that this study can contribute to offer some experiences and examples for the teaching of Portuguese language in China. This dissertation is divided into three chapters: The first chapter aims to present the approaches and methods that are applied by teachers in teaching second and foreign languages through time, including basic definition, concept and a brief history about their development. The second chapter presents the historical and political context of Portuguese language teaching in Macau. It aims to provide a comprehensive overview, from the macro perspective of the current situation of Portuguese language teaching in IPM. The third chapter analyzes the approaches and methods adopted by teachers in IPM classes, based on the study of curriculum organization, didactic practice, and the selection of approaches and methods.
