O relatório de estágio a seguir descreve a minha experiência entre setembro de 2021 e fevereiro de 2022 na editora Gato-Bravo, em Lisboa. Os objetivos deste estágio envolviam entrar em contato com textos e autores portugueses, participar de eventos literários, aprofundar conhecimentos em edição, revisão e áreas afins, vivenciar a atuação e a dinâmica de uma editora fora de meu país de origem e conhecer instituições e iniciativas livreiras em Portugal. Outros aspectos do funcionamento da editora foram observados, tais como a participação da editora Gato-Bravo em eventos, as plataformas digitais utilizadas pela empresa, os lançamentos organizados pela editora, as estratégias utilizadas pela equipe para atrair autores interessados em publicar obras inéditas, entre outros. Também foram abordados três casos de textos revisados, bem como as dificuldades e reflexões geradas a partir deles.
The following report describes my experience between September 2021 and February 2022 as an intern at Gato-Bravo publishing house, in Lisbon. The goals of this internship involved getting in touch with Portuguese texts and authors, participating in literary events, deepening my knowledge in editing, proofreading and related areas, experiencing the procedures and dynamics of a publishing house outside my home country and getting to know institutions and book-related initiatives in Portugal. Other aspects of the publishing house’s functioning were observed, such as the participation of Gato-Bravo in events, the digital platforms used by the company, the book releases organized by them, their strategies to attract authors with unpublished works, among others. Three cases of revised texts were also addressed, as well as the difficulties and reflections that emerged from them.
