An empirical analysis of industry setting related success factors Urban Air Mobility (UAM) is praised for solving problems to persistent issues of modern cities by using electric vertical take-off and landing vehicles (e VTOLs) for aerial passenger and goods transportation. Yet, no comprehensive overview illuminating both the relevance and the interaction of the industry’s success factors exists. This research aims to fill this gap by analysing the industry setting related success factors: technology, infrastructure, and players & funding. Based on semi-structured expert interviews, we derive insights into the most pertinent success factors and their distinct role for the German market. The analysis of these factors highlights their interdependency and identifies player and funding development as the most critical factor.
