Abstract

If in the past Project Finance was essential for the evolution of society through the financing of essential infrastructures for life in society, namely in the health, transport and energy sector, today it is the essential mechanism for the energy transition that the planet needs, through the maintenance of the realization of renewable energy projects and the impetus for an embryonic challenge that may be the first step towards a promising future: the green hydrogen.

O Project finance surge como uma modalidade de estruturação financeira vocacionada para o financiamento de infraestruturas e projetos de utilidade pública, afirmando-se como um importante instrumento que permite viabilizar infraestruturas essenciais que exigem elevados investimentos, espelhando-se numa teia contratual complexa que alinha os interesses dos vários intervenientes no projeto. Se no passado o Project Finance foi essencial para a evolução da sociedade através do financiamento de infraestruturas essenciais para a vida em sociedade, sobretudo no setor da saúde, transportes e energia, hoje é o mecanismo essencial para a transição energética que o planeta carece, através da continuação de concretização de projetos de energias renováveis e do impulso a um desafio embrionário que poderá o primeiro passo em direção a um futuro promissor: o hidrogénio verde.
