Many of the holistic studies on venture capital selection criteria date back to before digitalisation. This study attempts to create a current overview of the selection criteria of European venture capitalists and elaborate on the differences due to digital business. By conducting five expert interviews with European venture capitalists, this study concludes that while there was no fundamental change in the criteria, some changes in the criteria occurred. The management team should be adaptable to the fast-changing digital environment, and the product should solve a major problem in the market while being highly scalable.
