The main purpose of this master thesis is to shed light on the question in which areas impact venture capital and private equity funds can increase their transparency. Therefore, the thesis addresses the following research question: „How transparent are venture capital and private equity impact funds in their reporting? Current state and recommendations for improvement“. Throughout the research, a literature review of the impact investing industry is established,18 impact funds are analyzed, and several expert interviews conducted. This allowsto identify some of the main transparency gaps of the impact investing industry and provide recommendations for improvement.
