No contexto das Relações Públicas (RP), a Comunicação Interna (CI) é entendida como uma função estratégica das organizações que contribui para o sucesso organizacional, não só ao nível do negócio, mas também ao nível do envolvimento e compromisso dos colaboradores, um público que se constitui, cada vez mais, desafiante para as organizações, com novas necessidades e exigências. O presente trabalho centra-se no impacto que a CI pode ter na satisfação e motivação dos colaboradores nas organizações em contextos desafiantes, como é o caso da pandemia do novo coronavírus. Para tal, optou-se por desenvolver a investigação junto do Departamento de Comunicação – Departamento de Assuntos Institucionais - da Tabaqueira, filial da Philip Morris International, com o objetivo principal de compreender e analisar como o Departamento percecionou o impacto da pandemia na satisfação e motivação dos seus colaboradores e ainda perceber como o mesmo reagiu a esta crise inesperada. Neste sentido, realizou-se um inquérito por entrevista ao Diretor do Departamento de Comunicação da Tabaqueira e uma posterior análise de dados qualitativa. Os resultados demonstraram que, face ao cenário atual de crise de saúde, a satisfação e motivação dos colaboradores da Tabaqueira se mantiveram positivas em função das ações de CI desenvolvidas pelo Departamento de Comunicação da Tabaqueira, segundo a perspetiva do Departamento.
In the context of Public Relations (PR), Internal Communication (IC) is understood as a strategic function of organizations that contributes to organizational success, not only at the business level, but also at the level of engagement and commitment of employees, a public that it is increasingly challenging for organizations, with new needs and requirements. This research focuses on the influence that IC can have on the satisfaction and motivation of employees in organizations in challenging contexts, such as the case of the new coronavirus pandemic. To this end, it was decided to develop the investigation with the Communication Department – Corporate Affairs Department - of Tabaqueira, a subsidiary of Philip Morris International, with the main goal of understanding and analyzing how the Department perceived the impact of the pandemic on satisfaction and motivation of its employees and still understand how it reacted to this unexpected crisis. In this sense, an interview survey was carried out with the Director of the Communication Department – of Tabaqueira and a subsequent qualitative data analysis. The results showed that, given the current scenario of health crisis, the satisfaction and motivation of Tabaqueira employees remained positive due to the IC actions developed by the Department of Communication of Tabaqueira, according to its perspective.
