Esta dissertação tem como objetivo analisar a obra Ensaio sobre a Cegueira do escritor português José Saramago. Por este motivo, o presente trabalho foi estruturado em quatro capítulos. No primeiro capítulo, é introduzida uma reflexão sobre o contexto histórico em que Saramago inseriu a sua obra, seguida por uma breve apresentação desta. No segundo capítulo, são apresentados os diferentes contextos do humanitarismo, o humanitarismo de Saramago assim como a sua formação. No terceiro capítulo, através de uma minuciosa observação sob Ensaio sobre a Cegueira, são representados os pensamentos do escritor sobre o humanistarismo. Por fim, no último capítulo, são apresentadas as principais preocupações do autor transmitidos no romance.
This dissertation aims to analyze the book Ensaio sobre a Cegueira by the Portuguese writer José Saramago. For this reason, the present work has been structured in four chapters. In the first chapter, a reflection on the historical context in which Saramago inserted his work is introduced, followed by a brief presentation of it. In the second chapter, the different contexts of humanitarianism are presented, Saramago's humanitarianism as well as his formation. In the third chapter, through a detailed observation under Ensaio sobre a Cegueira, the writer's thoughts on humanistarianism are represented. Finally, in the last chapter, the main concerns of the author transmitted in the novel are presented.
