O conflito israelo-palestiniano e as suas repercussões num mundo global

Abstract

Vivemos numa época em que existem inúmeros conflitos armados, principalmente no Médio Oriente. O Conflito Israelo-Palestiniano está inserido na região, mas não é igual aos restantes conflitos que nesta se estão a desenrolar ou que já se desenrolaram num passado próximo. Este conflito tem a particularidade de ser uma disputa entre dois lados, um o Israelita e outro o Palestiniano, por posse territorial, que já dura desde o início dos anos 30. Um lado reclama o que é dele por direito divino, bíblico e ancestral, enquanto que o outro reclama que este território lhe foi roubado injustamente e que é dele e do seu povo, afirmando que está a ser ocupado por uma potência que, na sua opinião, não tem qualquer legitimidade de habitar neste território, que reprime injustamente um povo mais vulnerável e sem capacidade de se defender face um opositor mais forte, em termos militares, políticos e económicos. Posto isto, será que ambos os lados no futuro se irão ouvir a um ao outro, compreendendose mutuamente e percebendo as vontades e direitos de um e de outro em relação à posse deste território? Diversos fatores têm influência nas possíveis ou impossíveis respostas a estas perguntas. E serão alguns desses fatores considerados mais pertinentes, por terem influência no desenrolar do conflito entre ambas as partes, que serão analisados nesta Dissertação. Em primeiro lugar serão abordadas diferentes épocas históricas da região onde o conflito Israelo-Palestiniano se insere e, bem assim, a região envolvente do Médio Oriente. Em segundo lugar focar-se-á a atenção sobre as políticas entre os dois lados (perspetiva local) e as políticas, apoios e Relações Internacionais que tanto Israel como a Palestina mantêm com a Comunidade Internacional. E por fim, será analisado e perspetivado o potencial impacto da juventude, tanto israelita como palestiniana, no futuro do conflito e também a influência sobre o mesmo vinda por parte dos social media e da opinião pública internacional.

We live in an age of countless armed conflicts, especially in the Middle East. The IsraeliPalestinian Conflict in inserted in the region, but it is not the same as the other conflicts that are taking place here or that have already taken place in the near past. This conflict has the particularity of being disputed between two sides, one the Israeli and the other the Palestinian, for territorial possession. One side claims what is his by divine, biblical and ancestral right, while the other claims that this territory was unjustly stolen and that it is his and for his people, feeling that it has been occupied and repressed by a power that according to these, has no legitimacy to inhabit here. They also state that this power (Israel) unjustly represses a more vulnerable people and without the ability to defend itself against a stronger power in military, political and economic terms. With all this situation is it going to be possible that both sides will ear each other in the future? With mutual understanding about the rights, wills of each side about the possession of this territory? As so, several factors have influence in the possible or impossible answers to these questions. And some of these factors will be considered important, since they have influence on the way the conflict between both parts will take, that will be analised on this Dissertion. In the first place, different historical periods of the region where the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is happening will be analised, as well as the surrounding area of the Middle East. In the second place will be considered important to give attention to the politics of both sides (local perspective) and the politics, supports and International Relations that both Israel and Palestine maintain with the International Community. And in the end is pretended to perspective and investigate about the role of the Israeli and Palestinian youth to the future of the conflict between both sides as well as the role of social media and international public opinion.
