Digital transformation and the use of exponential technologies is a very popular and highly discussed topic for companies in the digital age. The question arises whether and which business value impacts arise through the introduction of new digital technologies. This work project addresses these questions along the main end-to-end process Purchase-to-Pay by initially identifying the process and its challenges for multinational companies. This is followed by an outline of the challenges of digital transformation along the P2P process and finally a more detailed evaluation of exponential technologies. These topics have been intensively discussed and elaborated with experts from different backgrounds. As a conclusion, only a small selection of available exponential technologies is being used and can show a positive impact on the company.
