Resumo: This work project presents a case study that analyses how NOS, an incumbent on the Portuguese telecommunications market holding a vast amount of Data, can capitalise on this asset to create a new product, outside its core business. The study addresses competencies needed for this transition, competitive landscape, market potential, product-market fit, and conformity with the General Data Protection Regulation. A teaching note complements it with supporting literature review and a case teaching plan. It aims to be an academic tool in the study of the implications of innovation management at the levels of organisational change, product development, regulation, and market strategy and risks.
