Resumo(s)
In the scope of the Master thesis in Information Management and Curation, we propose a research model drawing upon the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model by Venkatesh, Morris, Davis, and Davis (2003) in combination with trust, word-of-mouth, information security awareness, and habit. Based on a survey of 267 people from southern Europe, the results were triangulated with the inferences taken
from field interviews (in which current COVID-19 pandemic measures were observed and practiced), using a mixed-methods approach. Knowing what factors are relevant for the success of the adoption of cognitive cybersecurity at an individual level, insights and strategies were developed and suggested in order to help cybersecurity businesses to attract users. This question is addressed along with research limitations and future work to be done in the area.
