The worldwideproduction of packaging paper and paperboard has been increasingat 2.48%per yearsince 1999, reaching 240 million metric tonnesin 2018.Thisgrowth has been driven by the increasing awareness of consumers regarding environmental sustainability as well as by the growth of the e-commerce industry. The analysis presented was conducted to understand the impact of the e-commerce growth in the production of packaging paper and paperboard, in the UnitedStates and China.
