With the constant innovation and advancement intechnologyin the healthcare sector, AI-basedsolutions for the self-management of chronic diseaseshavebecome afeasiblebusiness opportunity. Thispaper investigates the potential of AI-based self-managementwith an exploratory research approachbyreviewing academic literature, analyzingcompaniesoffering such solutionsas well as inquiringpotentialdemand with a patient survey. Based on the resultsaleanbusiness plan is outlined for launching an exemplary app for the self-management of Atopic Dermatitis. The research showsthat AI-based self-management has great potential to improve the lives of patientsand offers therefore an attractive business opportunity.
