For successfulcollaborationsin a VUCA*world, leading global corporationsare implementingcollaborativecommunicationplatforms(CCPs). The domain of collaborative software was examinedregardingits interpersonal and intrapersonal impact. However, CCPs are a new, not fully explored type of collaborative tools,affecting collaboration. Thisstudy aims at closingthe research gap by assessing employee perceptions through comparing personal and virtual collaboration. A qualitative study reveals higher awarenessfor the communicationprocess design, enhancedorganizational transparencyand experienced flexibility in increasingly virtual collaborations. Employees fear losing personal touch andconsider a uniform approach including trainings as vital for successful tool use.
