Auchan is living a decisive restructuring process while being operacionally unprepared for most of its challenges. Recognizing this,Auchan’s 2025 Vision defines anew strategy centered on an omnichannel approach. For that, the recent introduction of ultra-proximitystores to the Auchan portfolio was a decisive move.Nevertheless, the inherent increase on supply chain complexity was not correctly addressed. The ultra-proximitystores operations lackscale, efficiency and agility as they continue to follow the hypermarkets chain.The present paper aims at giving detailed advice to Auchan regarding thedesign of an Ultra-proximitySupply Chain which can handle thespecifications of small storesfollowing the most recent retail market trends.
