Many studies have sought to identify demographic and dispositional factorsrenderingsome individuals more prone to fraud victimizationthan others, with conclusions varying across different fraud types.Building from a Fundamental Motives Framework, this study investigates the effect ofmating motiveson risk-seeking andimpulsivenessas risk factors forfraud victimization, focusingon effect differences between young adults andold adults. The results from a between-groupexperiment do not show enough evidencetosupport neither increased impulsiveness and risk-taking, and therefore, increased victimization likelihood, nor differences in the influence of a mating frame of mindbetween young and old adults.
