| dc.description.abstract | This paper covers the history of Netflix written as a case study: first, it tackles its transition from in-mail DVDs to turning into a streaming giant; second, it covers international endeavours and market pre-emption; third, acknowledging the increased competition in the SVoD (subscription video-on-demand)industry, multiple possibilities are suggested as a way of Netflix to rethink its strategy and business model. Hence, three different options arise–Peer-to-peer multisided platform, Content Expansion &Vertical integration, and Focusing on core strengths. All are presented with its advantages and shortfalls, promoting an in-class discussion on which could sustain competitive advantage for Netflix. | pt_PT |
