A presente dissertação trata o tema da arte conceptual e da possibilidade de aquisição de conhecimento através da mesma. Introduz-se um entendimento possível da arte como linguagem, propondo-se a leitura da obra de arte enquanto proposição, inserida em jogos de linguagem que requerem um contexto e o domínio gramatical dos mesmos para a sua compreensão. Apresentam-se os limites da linguagem, circunscrevendo a lógica e referindo-se a diferenciação entre proposições com e sem-sentido. Expõe-se o valor cognitivo das proposições estéticas e caracterizam-se estas experiências sem-sentido. Por fim, explora-se a legitimidade das obras de arte conceptuais, caracterizando a sua comunicabilidade e a sua relação com o espectador.
This dissertation deals with the theme of conceptual art and the possibility of acquiring knowledge through it. A possible understanding of art as a language is introduced and the reading of the work of art as a proposition, inserted in language games that require context and grammatical mastery of them for their understanding, suggested. The limits of language are presented, accompanied by a circumscription of logic, and reference is made to the differentiation between meaningful and meaningless propositions. The cognitive value of aesthetic propositions is exposed and these meaningless experiences are characterized. Finally, the legitimacy of conceptual works of art is explored, with this dissertation characterizing their communicability and their relationship with the viewer.
