Resumo(s)
Only 44% of waste is formally collected in Sub-Saharan Africa(Kaza et al. 2018).That makes solid waste management a major concern in the region. The development of an appropriate plan for the improvement of the system requires understanding the factors influencing its current state. Hence, this research analyses the potential of broader stakeholder engagement, particularly the perspective of the surveyed households from an urban are a in Ghana. Our findings show an overall high willingness to be involved in the system and its decision-making management, despite poor knowledge on the topic.
