O conflito em Cabo Delgado, Moçambique: Uma análise socioeconómica à escala do conflito em 2017

O contexto de violência em Cabo Delgado tem sido analisado por investigadores e historiadores na tentativa de compreender quais são as origens da eclosão da violência naquela província. Com o intuito de contribuir para a análise deste tema, a presente dissertação aborda o contexto de violência em Cabo Delgado através da metodologia de violência de Johan Galtung. O principal objetivo da investigação passou por relacionar aquelas que são consideradas as fragilidades socioeconómicas da província e, através do paradigma de violência de Johan Galtung, perceber como é que esses fatores legitimam a eclosão do contexto de violência. A estratégia de investigação passou por uma abordagem dedutiva por ser enquadrada pela teoria de Galtung e foi desenvolvida através de fontes secundárias em que os principais objetivos delineados passaram pela descrição do contexto de violência em Cabo Delgado, a partir de 2017 até à atualidade, com intuito de identificar as dinâmicas ao longo do tempo do conflito; indicar as alterações políticas, económicas e sociais que ocorreram no período pós-colonial (1975) até 2017, em Cabo Delgado, que poderão influenciar diretamente aquela região e a analise da relevância étnica, religiosa e cultural como um fator estruturante para compreender a eclosão do contexto de violência em Cabo Delgado. Através desta abordagem e objetivos foi possível conclui-se que a eclosão do contexto de violência em Cabo Delgado está enraizada em conflitos étnicos e religiosos num período anterior a 2017 e que, por sua vez, validam as ações políticas que foram tomadas ao longo dos anos e que fomentaram a marginalização socioeconómica daquela região e consequentemente validam a violência que se observa desde 2017, em Cabo Delgado.
The context of violence in Cabo Delgado has been analyzed by researchers and historians in an attempt to understand the origins of the outbreak of violence in that province. In order to contribute to the analysis of this theme, this dissertation approaches the context of violence in Cabo Delgado through Johan Galtung's methodology of violence. The main objective of the research was to relate what are considered the socio-economic fragilities of the province and, through Johan Galtung's paradigm of violence, to understand how these factors legitimize the outbreak of the context of violence. The research strategy used a deductive approach, as it was framed by Galtung's theory, and was developed through secondary sources, in which the main objectives outlined included the description of the context of violence in Cabo Delgado, from 2017 to the present day, in order to identify the dynamics of the conflict over time; indicate the political, economic and social changes that occurred in the post-colonial period (1975) until 2017, in Cabo Delgado, which could directly influence that region and the analysis of the ethnic, religious and cultural relevance as a structuring factor to understand the outbreak of the context of violence in Cabo Delgado. Through this approach and objectives, it was possible to conclude that the outbreak of the context of violence in Cabo Delgado is rooted in ethnic and religious conflicts in a period prior to 2017 and that, in turn, validate the political actions that were taken over the years and that fostered the socio-economic marginalization of that region and consequently validate the violence that has been observed since 2017 in Cabo Delgado.
