The behavior journalists present during the electoral campaign period requires an in-‐depth study in order to understand if it is possible to fix any shortcomings in the fulfillment of journalism key principles. This work assumes as its main “flag” the relationship among the journalists, the candidate and the electoral machine during the campaign for the presidential elections of 2016. Its main objective is to check the permeability of journalists to the Bubble that the electoral system creates around the candidate in order to condition the construction of the news. Especially because of this possibility, the starting question was elaborated in the following way: “How do journalists behave in times of electoral campaign?” This report will try to answer this question by means of the qualitative analysis of pieces carried out between the 10th and the 20th of January for SIC in “Jornal da Noite”. Additionally, in order to support its content and conclusions, it will also be based on the interviews with the journalists and cameramen who covered the campaign of Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and António Sampaio da Nóvoa, the key stakeholders analyzed due to their results in the presidential election.
