The present work has the main objective of advancing the existing knowledge about the amphora retrieved on the archaeological excavations on the site of Almoínhas by the municipality of Loures (from 1995 to 2002) and by the private company ERAArqueologia (2005/2006), which has revealed a roman occupation between the beginning of the II century A.D and the VI A.D.. This a site with a complex architectural layout, with different areas with distinct functionalities, either residential or productive, even counting with three ovens for ceramic production. It is of great importance to clarify the role that this archaeological site played on the region in which was installed, since until now, with the exception of the villa of Frielas, little is known about the roman occupation on the area of Loures, situation that we aim to alter with the study of the amphora and the systematic analyse of the chronological stratigraphy and the comercial phenomena contained within it. Therefore, the stratigraphy will be analysed alongside the ceramic evidences in order to establish a crono-stratigraphy that may be employed to comprehend the chronological evolution of the site and its relation with the area where it is situated, specifically on the economical relations established by this roman site and its surroundings.
