The Voluntary Carbon Market is increasingly recognized as a key market-based mechanism for
addressing climate change, enabling a wide range of climate solutions to be monetized through
carbon credits. The research focuses on the REDD+ business model, analyzing its core
components through the Social Business Model Canvas, supported by expert interviews and
market reports. Building upon the identified strengths and weaknesses, the study proposes a set
of strategic recommendations for business model innovation and optimization. Findings
suggest that REDD+ project developers should pursue vertical integration and diversify
revenue streams. Additionally, expanding access to the retail segment could unlock market
growth.
