Resumo(s)
The importance and role of the forest on the global ecosystem are unquestionable. It involves much more than biodiversity, air quality and water or the protection against erosion. Forest fires are the main threat of this natural resource. The aim of this work project is to study the forest fires reality, explaining their causes and consequences, presenting some of the most important available instruments to deal with this problem, on an international and national perspective. Finally it tries to explain how the damages caused by forest fires can be measured, on both a private and social approach.
