O presente relatório versa sobre a realização de um estágio curricular, integrado na componente não-letiva do Mestrado em Ciência Política e Relações Internacionais. O estágio teve lugar no Ministério dos Negócios Estrangeiros, concretamente na Divisão de Direitos Humanos da Direção de Serviços de Organizações Políticas Internacionais, inserida na Direção-Geral de Política Externa. De modo a aliar a descrição desta experiência às vertentes teórica e metodológica, este relatório encontra-se estruturado em três capítulos principais. O primeiro capítulo expõe o enquadramento teórico dos temas abordados tanto no estágio, como na investigação. O segundo capítulo, por seu turno, fornece uma descrição detalhada das várias atividades desenvolvidas durante esta experiência. Por fim, o terceiro capítulo introduz uma vertente de investigação, que tem como objetivo avaliar o grau de implementação do Estado Português face às recomendações emitidas pelo Comité das Nações Unidas contra a Tortura (CAT), bem como extrair padrões e tendências, por intermédio de um estudo de caso comparativo.
This report concerns the completion of a curricular internship, undertaken as part of the non-academic component of the Master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations. The internship took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, within the Human Rights Division of the Department for International Political Organisations, under the Directorate-General for Foreign Policy. In order to combine the description of this experience with theoretical and methodological perspectives, the report is structured into three main chapters. The first chapter outlines the theoretical framework of the issues addressed both during the internship and in the research component. The second chapter provides a detailed account of the activities carried out throughout this experience. Finally, the third chapter introduces a research dimension, aimed at assessing the degree of implementation by the Portuguese State of the recommendations issued by the United Nations Committee against Torture (CAT), as well as identifying patterns and trends through a comparative case study.
