This chapter analyses the Environmental Pillar of FMG-Light, a simplified sustainability framework for SME hotels. While aligned with Global Reporting Initiative standards and International Organization for Standardization 14001 principles, empirical findings reveal structural and data constraints limiting quantitative performance measurement. The revised FMG-Light V2 emphasizes behavioural routines, supervision, and capability-based monitoring as realistic pathways toward progressive environmental improvement.
