With the increase of necessities of more habitation in Portugal, there is also the need to rehabilitate buildings and not only invest in new construction. Not just because the fact that the urban occupation is more and more scarse, as well as the expenses that may involve com- paratively to rehabilitation. This demand, allied to the will of creation better comfort conditions within homes, leads to studies which are the best solutions for rehabilitating a building. There are some ways to rehabilitate, including the replacement of glazed openings with better ther- mal features, the addition of thermal insulation throughout the opaque zone, or even by changing the water heating system for one with more efficient and using renewable energies. In that perspective, it was intended, through this dissertation, to make an analysis with some constructive solutions, associated with a case study, and understand which of theme reveals better results. For that it was used the EneryPlus program, to simulate interior temper- atures and gains through the windows, and for other side, with the help of the reglementary calculation sheet, we've calculated the necessities of cooling and heating. Some of these results transmitted the idea that some solutions, especially those that include thicker thermal insula- tion, work well in the winter period, but in the summer period could have difficult to comply the regulation.
