| dc.description.abstract | Among renewable energy sources, solar energy has been typically considered to be less competitive in producing electricity. Though, besides having low external costs, solar power benefits from a timing advantage. Despite that these advantages are often recognized, for policy purposes it is crucial to provide evidence of such facts. This project aims at contributing to this goal by using numerical simulation to estimate the short-run economic value of an incremental change in solar PV in five different locations in Portugal. Therefore, it can serve as a stepping-stone for further research on medium- to long-term effects of introducing solar PV in the Portuguese electric system. | pt_PT |
