| dc.description.abstract | A variedade de testemunhos e a diversidade de opções arquitetónicas, de produção e de organização social, associadas à indústria e ao seu desenvolvimento ao longo dos tempos, tem provocado algumas reflexões e perplexidades nos nossos dias. A vontade de preservar e reutilizar estes edifícios industriais, que são os testemunhos mais fiáveis de uma civilização assente no desenvolvimento industrial e que marcaram épocas em várias áreas e a história do país, exige muito dinheiro, implica um pensamento crítico e construtivo sobre o assunto e um olhar atento e minucioso em relação a esta herança existente em Portugal. A Central Tejo constitui o foco principal do trabalho que vos propus desenvolver, sendo o seu caso contextualizado pela apresentação de outros casos de reutilização. Constitui, assim, um caso de adaptação funcional através de um programa museológico que urge compreender na sua dinâmica expositiva e de soluções museais, desenvolvido ao longo dos anos, enquanto exemplo de salvaguarda do património industrial e da criação de uma dinâmica de interação com os públicos e com a sociedade. A variedade da programação, a dualidade e articulação entre arte, ciência e tecnologia e a divulgação do trabalho feito internamente para conhecimento e inventário do nosso Património, contribuíram, e muito, para o seu sucesso. Cada vez mais a reutilização e a integração do património industrial em programas diversos, permite a permanência e a salvaguarda de importantes testemunhos desta tipologia. Os programas museológicos têm sido uma das soluções encontradas. Assim, com este trabalho pretende-se compreender como o património associado à produção de eletricidade contribuiu para o desenvolvimento de alguns museus, analisando-se três casos internacionais e três casos nacionais. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The variety of testimonies and the diversity of architectural, production and social organisation options, when associated with industry and its development over time, has fostered reflection and perplexity in our time. The desire to preserve and reuse these industrial buildings, which are the most reliable testimonies of a civilization based on industrial development, and which are landmarks of their time and of the country’s history, requires large investments and implies critical and constructive thinking on the subject, as well as a close and thorough look at this type of heritage in Portugal. The Tejo Power Station is the main focus of the work I’ve proposed to undertake, after contextualising by presenting other case studies. Thus, it embodies a case study of functional adaptation which is important to understand in its options as both an exhibition venue and as an industrial museum. It has been developed over the years, and is an example of preservation of industrial heritage, as well as of how to establish a relationship with the public and society. The diversity of its programming, the duality and interconnection between Art, Science and Technology, as well as the dissemination of information about the work done in-house to ensure that our Heritage is registered and inventoried, have greatly contributed to its success. The growing tendency to rehabilitate and integrate assets related to industrial heritage into various programmes enables the continuity and safekeeping of important landmarks of this kind. Museum programmes have been one of the solutions found to preserve this identity. Therefore, the present work aims to recognise how examples of heritage connected to the production of electricity have contributed to the development of museums, by analysing three international and three Portuguese instances. | pt_PT |
