Resumo(s)
This project’s aim is to apply what are considered to be the main arguments in favor of hiring a consulting company: Independence, Knowledge and Cost-Effectiveness, to a real situation, which is a consulting study done by McKinsey & Company to Unilever in 1972, complementing it with existing information regarding other consulting studies done at that time for other companies.
This Work Project was done by the use of second hand information derived mainly from G. Jones’ book on Unilever and C. McKenna’s book on the consulting profession.
Through the research done, I was able to find support for the arguments of Independence and Knowledge, yet the question of Cost-Effectiveness still remains unclear as there is little or no information regarding the direct economic impact of such study.
