Neste estudo, procura-se abordar as características fundamentais da construção modular, abrangendo as nuances do projeto e do processo construtivo, desde a produção até à monta-gem. Realizaram-se visitas a fábricas e obras de construção modular para observar diretamente a produção e montagem desses sistemas. Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar soluções construtivas alternativas para combater a escassez de mão-de-obra, a carência de habitação e os elevados preços, que é um dos grandes problemas atuais no país. Algumas empresas estão a propor a solução de construção modular como forma de reduzir os custos e o prazo de execução, e melhorar a qualidade da construção da habitação em Portugal. Este estudo visa compreender as reais vantagens e desvantagens do sistema de construção modular, como alternativa promissora e sustentável à construção tradicional.
The aim of this study is to address the fundamental characteristics of modular construction, covering the details of the design and construction process, from production to assembly. Vis-its were made to factories and modular construction sites to directly observe the production and assembly of these systems. This study aims to analyse alternative construction solutions to fight the shortage of labor, the lack of housing and its high prices, which Is one of the biggest current problems in the country. Some companies are proposing the modular construction solution as a way to reduce costs and execution time and improve the quality of housing con-struction In Portugal. This study aims to understand the real advantages and disadvantages of the modular construction system, as a promising and sustainable alternative to traditional con-struction.
