This project discusses the evolution of women’s football worldwide, with a particular focus on
the Women’s Super League (WSL). By analyzing primary and secondary research, this study
identifies some of the key strategies that aim to promote and develop women’s football
particularly related to governmental initiatives, financial investments, and media exposure. The
results indicate that these initiatives contributed to increase the popularity and commercial
viability of women’s football and the social changes in gender equality in sports. It is also
provided an action plan, with some key priorates developed in group, to replicate the model,
successfully implemented in England, for the benefit of other countries as well.
