This thesis investigates how the future Benfica District can be designed and activated to create value for multiple stakeholders while reinforcing SL Benfica’s identity. It studies the expectations of fans, the local community, non-fans, and tourists using an abductive, mixed methods methodology. The findings show the value of a multi-stakeholder lens in sport-led urban development and generate a set of targeted recommendations to guide SL Benfica and public partners in the creation of an inclusive, livable, and sustainable sport-led district.
