as obrigaƧƵes legais e as metas impostas pelas estratƩgias europeias.
no âmbito do projeto FitoAgro.
registar no sistema a informação fitossanitÔria recolhida durante as visitas.
Currently, horticultural production in the Western region is facing phytosanitary problems, with the causes of these issues being: the limitation in the use of numerous active substances that leaves many purposes inadequately covered, promoting the increase of populations that were in balance and thus becoming pests; climate changes that have created favorable conditions for the increase of pest populations and caused alterations in the life cycles of these enemies and the occurrence of new species. In order to prevent and control these problems, it would be necessary to create a support system for technicians and farmers in the field of phytosanitation, to help them comply with legal obligations and the targets imposed by European strategies. To meet this need, a back-office web application was developed for the platform designed as part of the FitoAgro project. This projectās main main goal is to study emerging pests in the West region affecting pome fruits. This is an application that allows information on phytosanitary problems to be integrated on a regional scale. These issues are identified by field technicians during their visits to the infected land, and are recorded in the system using a mobile application, whose purpose is to record the phytosanitary information collected during the visits. This mobile application can be configured via the web application developed to adapt to changes in pest life cycles or the appearance of new species of pests. In addition to configuring the phytosanitary information collection component, it is also possible to configure the weather information collection component. In addition, it is possible to consult and manipulate the information stored in the FitoAgro system via a single interface. Finally, it should be possible to manage access to the system by all the stakeholders interested in the project, be they organizations, producers or field agents. In order to validate and evaluate the application developed, tests were carried out, some of which involved future users of the application, which ensured that the collection of information and its interaction on an intelligent platform helps to define a set of indicators and services that are fundamental to monitoring the progression of plant health problems.
