The work investigated the problem of a make-or-buy decision in the field of transport logistics
from the perspective of a German beverage producer. Based on the findings of a literature
review, the author developed a decision framework applied incrementally in a case study of
Company A. In particular, the specificities of the German beverage industry, such as the
transport network and special features of the deposit system, were considered. The findings of
the literature review paired with the case study allowed the development of a framework that
can be used by German beverage producers across companies in make-or-buy decisions.
