| dc.description.abstract | The thesis highlights the strategic significance of Portuguese as a second language in global education, facilitated through the Instituto Camões' leitorado network. Our analysis reveals a concentration of leitorados in Europe and identifies substantial growth opportunities in Africa, Asia, and the Americas, regions with growing economic and cultural connections to Lusophone countries. The study suggests a policy-driven expansion of leitorados to leverage Portuguese's increasing global relevance. This approach will position Portuguese effectively in international education, aiding cultural and economic integration across diverse global communities. | pt_PT |
