Resumo(s)

This thesis investigates how blockchain can improve transparency and traceability in the pharmaceutical supply chain, focusing on Southern Italy. Motivated by a personal case involving multiple sclerosis treatment delays, it analyzes challenges like shipment issues, cold chain failures, and low digital maturity. Through interviews with healthcare and tech professionals, the study highlights blockchain’s benefits immutability, decentralization, and tamper-proof tracking. Findings stress the need for gradual, collaborative adoption starting with high-risk drugs. The thesis concludes by promoting cross-sector cooperation and pilot projects to ensure the secure, ethical, and practical integration of blockchain in healthcare.
